Pinterest. It's been blogged and tweeted ad nauseum but that's because it's so freaking useful. Especially for those who are bringing a vision to life -- whether you are planning a party, redecorating your home, or strategizing about your new fall wardrobe.

I'm a big fan of the statement jewelry for weddings and really any day of the year. I saw this fun pink (bold!) necklace while perusing Piperlime. I felt a little embarrassed when I saw it was by Kate Spade becuase lately so many things I'm drawn to end up being Kate-made. Ok, I admit it, I'm a big fan! You can find it here.
This would be so fun for a late summer, height-of-the-heat wedding along with lots of bright whites; and yellows, oranges, greens or blues.... amazingly versatile actually.

I've spent hours upon hours looking for the perfect shawl for this or that event. Time and circumstance usually leave me to use something already in my closet or something not quite perfect from a nearby department store. While perusing one of my favorite blogs for a gift I came across these artful wearables. Some things gelled for me this weekend while down in VA Beach for our engagement party.
I decided on a ceremony location with Jedd (yay!), we asked a family friend to be our minister (and he accepted!), I gave a make-up artist I am considering a trial run (and she passed with flying colors!), and I was able to take a closer look at our reception space to start really planning out the decorative items.
One item I discussed with our wedding planners was not wanting to have tons of paper products (menus, etc.) when not absolutely necessary. We liked the idea of a vintage chalkboard to display our menu items in a central location (upon entry into the cocktail party?) and I found the perfect one (above) on etsy earlier today. I also went ahead and purchased the hair clip I'd been admiring and a handmade vintage clutch.
Love this hair piece from Untamed Petals via Ruffled. Especially considering the owner/founder's backstory -- she's an MTV Networks staffer in NYC by day, but needs her creative outlet (like so many of us!) and started up this sweet company in 2009.
I then sat for a couple of weeks thinking about nothing much wedding related (which was a nice break).
This week we got our proofs for the save-the-dates and I thought it probably a good time to reassess...see if the things I'm drawn to are actually drawn to each other. And I think, in fact, they are.
